Code § 5-1501.12","heading":"Functions of the Board.","body":"The Board shall:\n\n(1)\nReview all reports of allegations of professional negligence, misconduct, or misidentification or other testing error that occurred in the provision of forensic science services or public health laboratory services at the Department;\n\n(2)\nPeriodically review the program standards and protocols related to Department operations;\n\n(3)\nAt least once every 3 years, conduct a review of relevant scientific literature to determine whether modification of any of the manuals and procedures referenced in § 5-1501.04(b) is desirable;\n\n(4)\nReview and make recommendations as necessary to the Director concerning:\n(A)\nThe quality and timeliness of the forensic science services or public health laboratory services at the Department;\n(B)\nNew scientific programs, protocols, methods of testing, and forensic technologies;\n(C)\nPlans for:\n(i)\nThe implementation of new programs;\n(ii)\nSustaining existing programs;\n(iii)\nImproving programs, where possible; and\n(iv)\nThe elimination of programs no longer needed;\n(D)\nQualification standards for analyst positions within the Department; and\n(E)\nAny other matters related to the scientific operation of the Department; and\n\n(4A)\nNot Funded.\n\n(4B)\nNot Funded.\n\n(5)\nAdvise the Director or the Mayor and Council, when it considers appropriate, on matters relating to the Department, forensic sciences services, or public health laboratory services.","path":["Title 5.
