Code § 5-361.01","heading":"Limitations on military weaponry acquired by District law enforcement agencies.","body":"(a)\nBeginning in Fiscal Year 2021, District law enforcement agencies shall not acquire the following property through any program operated by the federal government:\n(1)\nAmmunition of .50 caliber or higher;\n(2)\nArmed or armored vehicles, including aircraft and watercraft;\n(3)\nBayonets;\n(4)\nExplosives or pyrotechnics, including grenades;\n(5)\nFirearm silencers;\n(6)\nFirearms of .50 caliber or higher;\n(7)\nObjects designed or capable of launching explosives or pyrotechnics, including grenade launchers, firearms, and firearms accessories; and\n(8)\nRemotely piloted, powered aircraft without a crew aboard, including drones.\n\n(b)\nIf a District law enforcement agency:\n(1)\nRequests property through a program operated by the federal government, the District law enforcement agency shall publish notice of the request on a publicly accessible website within 14 days after the date of the request; or\n(2)\nAcquires property through a program operated by the federal government, the District law enforcement agency shall publish notice of the acquisition on a publicly accessible website within 14 days after the date of the acquisition.\n\n(c)\nWithin 180 days after July 22, 2020, District law enforcement agencies shall:\n(1)\nReturn or dispose of any property described in subsection (a) of this section that the agencies currently possess; and\n(2)\nPublish an inventory of the property returned or disposed of as described in paragraph (1) of this subsection on a publicly accessible website.","path":["Title 5.
