Code § 50-2451","heading":"Vehicle infraction points.","body":"(a)\n(1)\nThe Mayor shall establish a vehicle infraction point system for the purpose of determining a vehicle's eligibility for immobilization and impoundment.\n(2)\nIn addition to the infractions and offenses listed in subsection (b) and (c) of this section, the Mayor may enumerate new or additional categories of vehicle infractions and offenses and assign a corresponding point value based on the severity of the offense.\n(3)\nVehicle infraction points imposed under this subsection shall be assessed in addition to any fines or points imposed against the driving record of an individual under 18 DCMR § 303.\n\n(b)\n\n      \n        \n          \n            Infraction / Offense\n            Points\n          \n          \n            Speeding 11-15 miles per hour over the speed limit\n            2\n          \n          \n            Speeding 16-19 miles per hour over the speed limit\n            3\n          \n          \n            Speeding 20 miles per hour or more over the speed limit\n            5\n          \n          \n            Reckless Driving\n            5\n          \n          \n            Aggravated Reckless Driving\n            10\n          \n        \n      \n    \n\n(c)\n\n      \n        \n          \n            Infraction / Offense\n            Points\n          \n          \n            Safety-sensitive parking violation\n            3\n          \n          \n            Expired motor vehicle tag or registration – under 60 days\n            1\n          \n          \n            Expired motor vehicle tag or registration – 60 to 90 days\n            2\n          \n          \n            Expired motor vehicle tag or registration – over 90 days\n            3\n          \n          \n            All other parking violations\n            1\n          \n        \n      \n    ","path":["Title 50.
