Code § 7-2510.13","heading":"Extreme Risk Protection Order Implementation Working Group.","body":"(a)\nThere is established an Extreme Risk Protection Order Implementation Working Group (\"Working Group\"), which shall be composed of the following individuals:\n(1)\nDistrict government members, or their designees:\n(A)\nThe Chairperson of the Council's Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety;\n(B)\nThe Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice;\n(C)\nThe Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services;\n(D)\nThe Attorney General for the District of Columbia;\n(E)\nThe Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department;\n(F)\nThe Gun Violence Prevention Director in the Office of the City Administrator;\n(G)\nThe Executive Director of the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement;\n(H)\nThe Director of the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services;\n(I)\nThe Chief Medical Examiner;\n(J)\nThe Director of the Department of Forensic Sciences;\n(K)\nThe Director of the Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants;\n(L)\nThe Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council; and\n(M)\nThe Director of the Department of Behavioral Health; and\n(2)\nCommunity members and organizations, or their designees:\n(A)\nEverytown for Gun Safety;\n(B)\nMoms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, D.C. Chapter;\n(C)\nThe Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence;\n(D)\n[]The Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions;\n(E)\nBrady: United Against Gun Violence;\n(F)\nThe D.C. Appleseed Center for Law \u0026 Justice;\n(G)\nThe D.C. Coalition Against Domestic Violence;\n(H)\nThe D.C. Behavioral Health Association;\n(I)\nThe Council for Court Excellence;\n(J)\nThe American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, National Capital Area Chapter; and\n(K)\nOne representative from each of the District's violence interruption contractors with the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement and the Office of the Attorney General's Cure the Streets program.\n\n(b)\nThe Working Group may also request the participation of other subject matter experts, as well as designees of the following:\n(1)\nThe Chief Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia; and\n(2)\nThe United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.\n\n(c)\nThe Chairperson of the Council's Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety and the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice shall serve as the co-chairs of the Working Group, and shall convene the Working Group no later than April 1, 2024.\n\n(d)\nThe duties of the Working Group shall include:\n(1)\nImproving public awareness of extreme risk protection orders;\n(2)\nImproving the coordination of District and federal agencies regarding the filing, adjudication, and execution of extreme risk protection orders;\n(3)\nFacilitating the education of behavioral and mental health professionals about extreme risk protection orders;\n(4)\nAdvancing the development of District government policies and procedures to govern extreme risk protection orders, such as written directives of the Metropolitan Police Department; and\n(5)\nReviewing and incorporating best practices from other jurisdictions concerning extreme risk protection order laws, policies, and procedures.\n\n(e)\nThis section shall expire on April 1, 2025.","path":["Title 7.
