Code § 7-671.03","heading":"Composition of the Maternal Mortality Review Committee.","body":"(a)\nThe Mayor shall appoint at least one representative from each of the following agencies:\n(1)\nThe Office of the Chief Medical Examiner;\n(2)\nThe Department of Health;\n(3)\nThe Department of Behavioral Health;\n(4)\nThe Department of Health Care Finance; and\n(5)\nThe Department of Human Services.\n\n(b)\nIn addition to the appointments required by subsection (a) of this section, the Mayor shall appoint the following members in accordance with § 1-523.01(f):\n(1)\nOne person with experience in obstetrics and gynecology from each of the District's hospitals and birthing centers;\n(2)\nOne representative from the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists;\n(3)\nOne representative from the American College of Nurse-Midwives;\n(4)\nOne obstetric registered nurse;\n(5)\nOne certified nurse midwife;\n(6)\nOne doula;\n(7)\nOne representative from a pediatric hospital;\n(8)\nThree representatives from community organizations specializing in women's health, teen pregnancy, or public health;\n(9)\nOne social worker specializing in women's health or maternal health;\n(10)\nOne person who has been directly impacted by a maternal mortality;\n(11)\nOne person who has been directly impacted by a near maternal mortality;\n(12)\nOne anesthesiologist with experience in obstetrics; and\n(13)\nOne neonatologist with experience with high-risk pregnancies.\n\n(c)\nThe Committee shall select a Chairperson according to procedures set forth by the Committee.\n\n(d)\nThe Committee shall establish quorum and other procedural requirements as it considers necessary.\n\n(e)\n(1)\nMembers appointed pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.\n(2)\nMembers appointed pursuant to subsection (b) of this section shall serve a 3-year term and may be removed by the Mayor for cause. Vacancies in membership shall be filled in the same manner in which the original appointment was made.\n\n(f)\nNo member shall serve in a hold-over capacity for longer than 180 days after the expiration of the term to which they were appointed.\n\n(g)\nThe Committee may invite other stakeholders to attend or present at any relevant portion of a Committee meeting.","path":["Title 7.
