Code § 8-1031.04a","heading":"Requirements for District facilities and agencies.","body":"(a)\nAll District facilities and agencies shall:\n(1)\nSeparate waste in accordance with § 8-1031.03 and provide adequate waste collection service in accordance with § 8-1031.04; and\n(2)\nMaximize diversion of waste from landfill or incineration, including through promotion of reduction, reuse, repair, donation, recycling, and composting, including donating reusable goods to the maximum extent practicable.\n\n(b)\nEach agency shall designate a person responsible for compliance with this chapter. The designated person shall ensure that employees and janitorial staff are annually trained on source separation requirements, consistent with the training program established under § 8-1031.03, and that all recycling, composting, and trash receptacles are provided as required.\n\n(c)\nDPW shall annually collect information from each agency on how it is satisfying the requirements of subsections (a) and (b) of this section and include a summary in the annual report required by § 8-1031.13, including a list of the persons designated pursuant to subsection (b) of this section.\n\n(d)\nDistrict agencies shall maximize the purchase of Environmentally Preferable Products or Services, as that term is defined in § 2-351.04(30).","path":["Title 8.
