Code § 8-151.03","heading":"Department of Energy and Environment; establishment; transfers.","body":"(a)\nThe Department of Energy and Environment is established as an agency within the executive branch of the government of the District of Columbia. DOEE shall be responsible for the interpretation, administration, enforcement, and oversight of environmental laws, regulations, and programs, whether involving public or private property, including laws, regulations, and programs related to the following:\n(1)\nAir quality and resources;\n(2)\nWater quality and resources;\n(3)\nWatershed protection;\n(4)\nStormwater;\n(5)\nSoil resources;\n(6)\nHazardous wastes and toxic substances, except for medical waste and low-level radioactive waste;\n(7)\nPesticides;\n(8)\nAsbestos;\n(9)\nUnderground storage tanks;\n(10)\nAquatic and wildlife resources;\n(11)\nLead hazard prevention and elimination, except for Chapter 8D of Title 7; and\n(12)\nTo the extent it does not conflict with, or supersede, the urban forestry functions of the District Department of Transportation, tree and forest policy related to stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and habitat and wildlife conservation and restoration.\n\n(b)\nRepealed.","path":["Title 8.
