To view the text of this section after the expiration of all emergency and temporary legislation, click this link: Past Permanent Version.*\n      \n\n(a)\nIt is the policy of the District to approve block parties, including porchfests.\n\n(b)\nA block party application or expedited block party application shall not be denied unless:\n(1)\nIt fails to meet the requirements of this chapter;\n(2)\nThe event would create a significant public safety concern;\n(3)\nThe event would create a significant traffic problem; or\n(4)\nThere is substantial neighborhood opposition to the block party.\n\n(c)\nAn application for a block party preauthorization shall not be denied unless the Department determines that:\n(1)\nThe application fails to meet the requirements of § 9-632.01;\n(2)\nFrequent closures of the block would create significant public safety concerns or traffic problems; or\n(3)\nThere is substantial neighborhood opposition to the application.","path":["Title 9.
