C. § 4307","heading":"Term of office; fees; resignation.","body":"(a) An individual is to be initially commissioned as a notary public for a term of 2 years. A notary public who wishes to renew the notary public’s commission may request a 2-year reappointment or a 4-year reappointment. An individual must pay a nonrefundable application fee of $60 for a 2-year term or $90 for a 4-year term.\n(b), (c) [Repealed.]\n(d) A notary public who wishes to resign from office or who no longer meets the qualifications for a commission during the notary’s term of office shall immediately mail or deliver the official commission to the Secretary of State, who shall cancel the same.\n(e) [Repealed.]\n(f) If any person shall knowingly or wilfully make any false or fraudulent statement or misrepresentation in or with reference to any application for a notary commission or any other document required by this chapter, the person is guilty of perjury.","path":["Title 29.
