Stat. § 104.0615","heading":"Voter intimidation or suppression prohibited; criminal penalties.","body":"(1) This section may be cited as the “Voter Protection Act.”\n(2) A person may not directly or indirectly use or threaten to use force, violence, or intimidation or any tactic of coercion or intimidation to induce or compel an individual to:\n(a) Vote or refrain from voting;\n(b) Vote or refrain from voting for any particular individual or ballot measure;\n(c) Refrain from registering to vote; or\n(d) Refrain from acting as a legally authorized election official or poll watcher.\n(3) A person may not knowingly use false information to:\n(a) Challenge an individual’s right to vote;\n(b) Induce or attempt to induce an individual to refrain from voting or registering to vote; or\n(c) Induce or attempt to induce an individual to refrain from acting as a legally authorized election official or poll watcher.\n(4) A person may not knowingly destroy, mutilate, or deface a voter registration form or election ballot or obstruct or delay the delivery of a voter registration form or election ballot.\n(5) A person who violates subsection (2), subsection (3), or subsection (4) commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.\nHistory.—s. 76, ch. 2005-277.","path":["CHAPTER 104 ELECTION CODE: VIOLATIONS; PENALTIES"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute\u0026URL=0100-0199/0104/0104.html","current_through":"2026 Florida Statutes","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T01:59:05Z","sha256":"3888011734355a1f2f2bb2e3f13cbe7b769b540a3f84d3f556b0f03949f42515","source_id":"us-fl","stale":false,"prev":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-104.061","next":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-104.0616"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
