Stat. § 121.22","heading":"State Retirement Commission; creation; membership; compensation.","body":"(1) There is created within the Department of Management Services a State Retirement Commission composed of five members: Two members who are retired under a state-supported retirement system administered by the department; two members who are active members of a state-supported retirement system that is administered by the department; and one member who is neither a retiree, beneficiary, or member of a state-supported retirement system administered by the department. Each member shall have a different occupational background from the other members.\n(2) Appointments to the commission shall be made by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate. Members shall be appointed for 4-year terms. Each member shall serve until a successor is appointed and confirmed, and a member may be appointed to succeed himself or herself. Should a vacancy occur, it shall be filled by appropriate appointment by the Governor for the period of the unexpired term.\n(3) No person shall serve as a member who holds an elective public office of the state or any political subdivision thereof or who holds any office in, or serves as an agent for, a political party.
