Stat. § 451.01","heading":"Definitions.","body":"For purposes of this chapter, the term:\n(1) “Household services” means:\n(a) Furniture assembly;\n(b) Interior painting;\n(c) Television mounting;\n(d) Local moving help, such as packing, lifting, loading, and rearranging household items, but excluding transporting items;\n(e) Hanging pictures, mirrors, curtains, blinds, and shelves;\n(f) Home cleaning;\n(g) Installation of in-home technology that does not require a hardwired electrical connection; or\n(h) Installing or replacing door hardware.\nHousehold services do not include services that require licensure under chapter 489.\n(2) “Marketplace contractor” means any individual who:\n(a) Enters into an agreement with a marketplace platform to use the platform’s technology application to connect with third-party individuals or entities seeking temporary household services.\n(b) In return for compensation, offers or provides temporary household services to third-party individuals or entities through the marketplace platform’s technology application.\n(3) “Marketplace platform” or “platform” means an entity operating in this state which:\n(a) Offers an online-enabled technology application service, website, or system that enables marketplace contractors to provide services to third-party individuals or entities seeking such temporary household services.\n(b) Accepts service requests from the public only through its online-enabled technology application service, website, or system.\nHistory.—s. 50, ch. 2018-118.","path":["CHAPTER 451 MARKETPLACE CONTRACTORS"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute\u0026URL=0400-0499/0451/0451.html","current_through":"2026 Florida Statutes","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:06:15Z","sha256":"4dffb79f0c8b6559db7b467006935ea3aa6049964007a6e11d05b915951fabcb","source_id":"us-fl","stale":false,"prev":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-450.39","next":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-451.02"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
