Stat. § 559.956","heading":"Transfers of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system manufacturer warranties.","body":"(1) If a residential real property that includes a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system as a fixture to the property is conveyed to a new owner on or after July 1, 2024, a manufacturer’s warranty in effect on that system or a component of that system:\n(a) Is automatically transferred to the new owner; and\n(b) Continues in effect as if the new owner was the original purchaser of such system or component, as applicable.\n(2) A warrantor continues to be obligated under the terms of a manufacturer’s warranty agreement for a warranty transferred under this section and may not charge a fee for the transfer of the warranty.\n(3) The transfer of a manufacturer’s warranty under this section does not extend the remaining term of the warranty.\n(4) A manufacturer’s warranty of an HVAC system or a component of the system may not be in any way conditioned upon the product registration.\n(5) This section applies if:\n(a) A sale of a residential property that includes an HVAC system as a fixture to the property occurs on or after July 1, 2024.\n(b) A manufacturer’s warranty is still in effect on the HVAC system or a component of the system.\nHistory.—s. 1, ch. 2023-288; s. 2, ch. 2024-206.","path":["CHAPTER 559 REGULATION OF TRADE, COMMERCE, AND INVESTMENTS, GENERALLY"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute\u0026URL=0500-0599/0559/0559.html","current_through":"2026 Florida Statutes","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:09:09Z","sha256":"1a725985d3a99ee8d57409a703b25dbde35645bc053e079be68a7ac9b68005aa","source_id":"us-fl","stale":false,"prev":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-559.955","next":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-559.957"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
