Stat. § 90.801","heading":"Hearsay; definitions; exceptions.","body":"(1) The following definitions apply under this chapter:\n(a) A “declarant” is a person who makes a statement.\n(b) “Hearsay” is a statement, other than one made by the declarant while testifying at the trial or hearing, offered in evidence to prove the truth of the matter asserted.\n(c) A “statement” is:\n1. An oral or written assertion; or\n2.
