Stat. § 985.6885","heading":"Persons authorized to visit juvenile facilities.","body":"(1) The following persons may visit at their pleasure between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. all facilities housing juveniles which are operated or overseen by the department or a county:\n(a) The Governor.\n(b) A Cabinet member.\n(c) A member of the Legislature.\n(d) A judge of a state court.\n(e) A state attorney.\n(f) A public defender.\n(g) A person authorized by the secretary of the department.\n(2) A person specified in subsection (1) may visit a facility subject to this section before 6 a.m. or after 11 p.m. pursuant to rules adopted by the department.\n(3) The department may not unreasonably withhold permission to visit a facility subject to this section from a person who gives sufficient evidence that he or she is a bona fide reporter or writer.\n(4) The department shall adopt rules to implement this section.\nHistory.—s. 1, ch. 2018-47.","path":["CHAPTER 985 JUVENILE JUSTICE; INTERSTATE COMPACT ON JUVENILES"],"source_url":"https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute\u0026URL=0900-0999/0985/0985.html","current_through":"2026 Florida Statutes","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-08-27T02:17:18Z","sha256":"e88dcd7525205b57e1bf1d8a4de86119b6adb579f8d7714b72adcdc2007039c7","source_id":"us-fl","stale":false,"prev":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-985.688","next":"us-fl/fla.-stat.-985.69"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
