{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-12-12-5","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 12-12-5","heading":"Powers and duties of director.","body":"The director shall have the following powers and duties:\n(1) To collect all fees authorized by this chapter and remit such fees to the state treasury;\n(2) To exercise general supervision over the administration and enforcement of this chapter and all rules and regulations and orders promulgated under this chapter;\n(3) To license contractors, and to deny, suspend, or revoke licenses;\n(4) To issue all orders and processes as may be necessary to enforce compliance with provisions of this chapter and all rules and regulations promulgated under this chapter;\n(5) To conduct such public hearings as are deemed necessary for the proper administration of this chapter;\n(6) To make investigations, analyses, and inspections to determine and ensure compliance with this chapter, rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to this chapter, and any orders which the director may issue;\n(7) To institute and prosecute such court actions as may be necessary to enforce compliance with any provisions of this chapter and any rules and regulations promulgated under this chapter;\n(8) To exercise all incidental powers necessary to carry out the purpose of this chapter; and\n(9) To encourage voluntary cooperation by persons in affected groups to achieve the purpose of this chapter.","path":["TITLE 12 Conservation And Natural Resources","CHAPTER 12 Asbestos Safety"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.12.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"5a3354bc5f9a11eaf46b7ad6a612b9c3a811cf5c8231fd5abed94256e0097116","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-12-12-4","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-12-12-6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
