{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-20-3-497","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 20-3-497","heading":"Establishment of REACH scholarship; student requirements.","body":"The Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Scholarship Program is hereby established. The scholarship program shall provide scholarships and support to eligible students who meet the following requirements:\n(1) Be a United States citizen or an eligible noncitizen for 12 consecutive months prior to the first day of classes of the spring term of the student’s seventh grade school year;\n(2) Be enrolled in a REACH participating school system;\n(3) Qualify for the federal free or reduced lunch program;\n(4) Not have had more than two in-school suspensions during the two semesters or four quarters immediately preceding the spring term of the student’s seventh grade year;\n(5) Not have any criminal or drug-related convictions;\n(6) Not have more than five days of unexcused absences during any of the student’s middle school calendar years;\n(7) Have his or her parents or guardians complete and submit a release of information form, as part of the application process, authorizing the school to provide the authority information related to the student’s participation in the program; and\n(8) Demonstrate academic promise, as defined by the authority, taking into consideration grades, attendance, and behavior.","path":["TITLE 20 Education","CHAPTER 3 Postsecondary Education","Article 7 Scholarships, Loans, and Grants","PART 4 Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Scholarship"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.20.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"7fbe02cc57426396793ce33a3d669958f004509466c1397a28525c4ade507901","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-20-3-496","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-20-3-498"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
