{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-31-10-10","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 31-10-10","heading":"Registration of live born infants of unknown parentage.","body":"(a) Whoever assumes the custody of a live born infant of unknown parentage shall report on a form and in a manner prescribed by the state registrar within ten days to the State Office of Vital Records the following information:\n(1) The date and place of finding;\n(2) Sex, color or race, and approximate birth date or age of child;\n(3) Name and address of the person or institution with whom the child has been placed for care;\n(4) Name given to the child by the custodian of the child; and\n(5) Other data required by the state registrar.\n(b) The place where the child was found shall be entered as the place of birth.\n(c) A report registered under this Code section shall constitute the certificate of birth for the child.\n(d) If the child is subsequently identified and a certificate of birth is found or obtained, the report registered under this Code section shall be placed in a special file and shall not be subject to inspection except upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction or as provided by regulation.","path":["TITLE 31 Health","CHAPTER 10 Vital Records"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.31.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"46019056920a9c697f22f962c2170eba90f4bd53e8fe420dd3a29dfb2c25ef86","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-31-10-9.2","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-31-10-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
