{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-34-9-431","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 34-9-431","heading":"Certification of work based learning employer; requirements.","body":"(a) A work based learning employer that has been certified pursuant to this Code section may be eligible for a premium discount under such employer’s workers’ compensation insurance policy pursuant to Code Section 33-9-40.3.\n(b) The State Board of Education shall certify to the State Board of Workers’ Compensation that a work based learning employer meets the following requirements:\n(1) Enters into a training agreement with one or more work based learning students, the student’s parent or guardian, and the school’s work based learning coordinator;\n(2) Develops, in conjunction with the school’s work based learning coordinator, a detailed training plan for the work based learning student that focuses on development of technical skills and employability skills;\n(3) Assigns a mentor to the work based learning student and assists in monitoring the progress of such student;\n(4) Provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage for the work based learning student;\n(5) Complies with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding the employment of students; and\n(6) Complies with the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education.","path":["TITLE 34 Labor and Industrial Relations","CHAPTER 9 Workers’ Compensation","Article 12 Work Based Learning Employer"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.34.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"a62437e7fb3680a7c2fd9ddff7b10476c725881d980e91575489d2355c715fc4","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-34-9-430","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-34-9-432"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
