{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-40-1-229","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 40-1-229","heading":"Requirements for drivers in peer-to-peer car-sharing program; record keeping.","body":"(a) A peer-to-peer car-sharing program may not enter into a car-sharing program agreement with a driver unless the driver who will operate the shared vehicle:\n(1) Holds a driver’s license issued under Code Section 40-5-28 that authorizes the driver to operate vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle;\n(2) Is a nonresident who:\n(A) Has a driver’s license issued by the state or country of such driver’s residence that authorizes such driver in that state or country to drive vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle; and\n(B) Is at least the same age as that required of a Georgia resident to drive; or\n(3) Otherwise is specifically authorized by the Department of Driver Services to drive vehicles of the class of the shared vehicle.\n(b) A peer-to-peer car-sharing program shall keep a record of the:\n(1) Name and address of the shared vehicle driver;\n(2) Driver’s license number of the shared vehicle driver and each other person, if any, who will operate the shared vehicle; and\n(3) Date and place of issuance of the driver’s license.","path":["TITLE 40 Motor Vehicles and Traffic","CHAPTER 1 Identification and Regulation","Article 3 Motor Carriers","PART 5 Georgia Peer-to-Peer Car-Sharing Program"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.40.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"8b1ea2c0b4be4dc505fdcccd79ee937c2faab070c2bfc5eab4d202f329ef877e","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-40-1-228","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-40-1-230"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
