{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-40-6-45","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 40-6-45","heading":"Further limitations on driving on left of center of roadway.","body":"(a) No vehicle shall be driven on the left side of a roadway designed and authorized for traffic traveling in opposite directions under the following conditions:\n(1) When approaching or upon the crest of a grade or a curve in the highway where the driver’s view is obstructed within such distance as to create a hazard in the event another vehicle might approach from the opposite direction;\n(2) When traversing any:\n(A) Intersection which is clearly marked by a solid barrier line placed on the right-hand element of a combination stripe along the center or lane line or by a solid double yellow line; or\n(B) Railroad grade crossing; or\n(3) When the view is obstructed upon approaching within 100 feet of any bridge, viaduct, or tunnel.\n(b) The foregoing limitations shall not apply upon a one-way roadway nor under the conditions described in paragraph (2) of subsection (a) of Code Section 40-6-40 nor to the driver of a vehicle turning left into or from an alley, private road, driveway, or roadway.","path":["TITLE 40 Motor Vehicles and Traffic","CHAPTER 6 Uniform Rules of the Road","Article 3 Driving on Right Side of Roadway, Overtaking and Passing, Following too Closely"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.40.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"e2358ef448dc7be5b2505c4b504ebf8525d28f9c9df591ce3c476eb4b272cf74","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-40-6-44","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-40-6-46"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
