{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-43-34-243","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 43-34-243","heading":"Permitted activities.","body":"This article shall not be construed to prohibit:\n(1) A licensed physician from engaging in the practice for which he or she is licensed;\n(2) A licensed physician assistant from engaging in the practice for which he or she is licensed;\n(3) A person licensed by this state as a registered professional nurse, licensed practical nurse, or nurse practitioner from engaging in his or her profession;\n(4) A licensed esthetician from engaging in his or her profession;\n(5) A master cosmetologist from engaging in his or her profession;\n(6) Any person licensed under any other article of this chapter from engaging in the practice for which he or she is licensed;\n(7) A person licensed in this state under any other law from engaging in the practice for which he or she is licensed;\n(8) The practice of providing cosmetic laser services by a person who is employed by the federal government or any bureau, division, or agency of the federal government while in the discharge of the employee’s official duties;\n(9) The practice of providing cosmetic laser services by a student enrolled in an accredited school of nursing or medical school as part of his or her training; or\n(10) Employees or authorized representatives of a manufacturer of a laser used for cosmetic laser services from engaging in one or more of the following: evaluating, adjusting, measuring, designing, fabricating, assembling, fitting, servicing, training, repairing, replacing, or delivering a laser used to provide cosmetic laser services under the order, direction, or prescription of a physician or health provider operating within his or her licensed scope of practice.","path":["TITLE 43 Professions And Businesses","CHAPTER 34 Physicians, Acupuncture, Physician Assistants, Cancer and Glaucoma Treatment, Respiratory Care, Clinical Perfusionists, and Orthotics and Prosthetics Practice","Article 9 Cosmetic Laser Services"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.43.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"c5669c80dd2afd9dd46360461752f4245ecdeb47639d8b481dc8492b8bc0d883","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-43-34-242","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-43-34-244"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
