{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-43-35-12","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 43-35-12","heading":"Eligibility for license.","body":"A license to practice podiatric medicine shall be issued to any person who:\n(1) Is a graduate of an accredited college of podiatric medicine approved by the board;\n(2) Holds a doctoral degree or its equivalent;\n(3) Satisfactorily passes a board approved examination, if an examination is required by the board;\n(4) Successfully completes postdoctoral training of no less than 12 months as a resident in podiatric medicine and surgery in a program or institution approved by, and in good standing with, the board;\n(5) Has attained the age of 21 years;\n(6) Has satisfactory results, as determined by the board, from a criminal background check conducted by the Georgia Crime Information Center and the Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to Code Section 43-35-12.1;\n(7) Is not disqualified to receive a license under the provisions of Code Section 43-35-16; and\n(8) Pays the required fee to the board.","path":["TITLE 43 Professions And Businesses","CHAPTER 35 Podiatry Practice"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.43.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"8b672d0f29f70743215639dd3d2ac34b239c0837fb8e956ff2d960f55c8e0fdf","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-43-35-11","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-43-35-12.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
