{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-45-16-65","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 45-16-65","heading":"Powers and duties of council generally.","body":"The council is vested with the following functions, powers, and responsibilities:\n(1) To make all the necessary rules and regulations to carry out this article;\n(2) To cooperate with and secure the cooperation of every department, agency, or instrumentality of the state government or its political subdivisions in furtherance of the purposes of this article;\n(3) To approve schools and to prescribe minimum qualifications for instructors at approved schools;\n(4) To issue a certificate of certification to any coroner satisfactorily complying with an approved training program;\n(5) To withdraw or suspend the certification of any coroner who has performed or is performing the duties of a coroner in violation of this chapter;\n(6) To do any and all things necessary or convenient to enable it wholly and adequately to perform its duties and to exercise the power granted to it;\n(7) To review complaints from outside parties and make recommendations concerning the retention, suspension, or removal of a coroner from his or her position; and\n(8) To prescribe, by rules and regulations, the minimum requirements for curricula and standards composing the initial in-service, advanced, specialized, and continuing training courses for certification.","path":["TITLE 45 Public Officers and Employees","CHAPTER 16 Coroners","Article 3 Georgia Coroner’s Training Council"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.45.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"0d661439596abb5230cca782ec175bc014ff10098ffab90c4678c65f8686f78f","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-45-16-64","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-45-16-66"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
