{"data":{"id":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-47-4-25","jurisdiction":"us-ga","citation":"O.C.G.A. § 47-4-25","heading":"Powers and duties of the board.","body":"(a) The board is given the following powers and duties:\n(1) To provide for the collection of all money provided for in this chapter;\n(2) To provide for the payment of all administrative expenses;\n(3) To hear and decide all applications for retirement benefits under this chapter;\n(4) To provide for the payment of all retirement benefits that may be determined to be due under the rules and regulations adopted by the board;\n(5) To make and promulgate all necessary rules and regulations not inconsistent with the laws of this state in order to carry out this chapter;\n(6) To determine eligibility of persons to receive retirement benefits under this chapter;\n(7) To make provisions for refunds or repayments to persons who may be entitled to receive them; and\n(8) To keep records of all its meetings.\n(b) The board shall also have all other powers necessary for the proper administration of this chapter.","path":["TITLE 47 Retirement and Pensions","CHAPTER 4 Public School Employees Retirement System","Article 2 Creation, Administration, and Management of the Assets of the Retirement System"],"source_url":"https://archive.org/download/gov.ga.ocga.2018/release86.2022.11/gov.ga.ocga.title.47.odt","current_through":"Release 86 (2022-11)","vintage":"Public.Resource.Org bulk O.C.G.A., Release 86 (2022-11), retrieved 2026-09-17","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T19:34:57Z","sha256":"4c2d312e29d4d0414871b00146a2d0338662467fe5d3361d3bccf1cf6199ea7b","source_id":"us-ga","stale":false,"prev":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-47-4-24","next":"us-ga/o.c.g.a.-47-4-26"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
