{"data":{"id":"us-gu/1-gca-1000","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"1 GCA § 1000","heading":"Holidays.","body":"(a) The holidays of Guam are:\n(1) New Year’s Day;\n(2) Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the third Monday in January;\n(3) Guam History and CHamoru Heritage Day, the first Monday in March;\n(4) Memorial Day, the last Monday in May;\n(5) Independence Day, July 4th;\n(6) Liberation Day, July 21st;\n(7) Labor Day, the first Monday in September;\n(8) All Souls’ Day, November 2;\n(9) Veterans’ Day, November 11;\n(10) Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday in November;\n(11) Our Lady of Camarin Day, December 8; and\n(12) Christmas, December 25th.\n(b) Whenever a holiday listed in Subsection (a) of this Section falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the government of Guam shall follow the Federal government’s practice for that holiday.\n(c) In addition to the holidays specified in Subsection (a) of this Section, I Maga’hågan/Maga’låhen Guåhan may declare by Executive Order additional non-permanent holidays for special purposes.
