{"data":{"id":"us-gu/10-gca-12103","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"10 GCA § 12103","heading":"Commission.","body":"(a) There is within the government of Guam a “Commission on the Healing Arts of Guam,” (Commission) consisting of eleven (11) members appointed by I Maga’hågan/Maga’låhen Guåhan as follows:\n(1) the Director of Public Health and Social Services, or a designee from the Department;\n(2) the Chairperson of the Board of Nurse Examiners;\n(3) the Chairperson of the Board of Medical Examiners;\n(4) the Chairperson of the Board of Examiners for Dentistry;\n(5) the Chairperson of the Board of Examiners for Pharmacy;\n(6) the Chairperson of the Board of Allied Health Examiners;\n(7) the Chairperson of the Board of Examiners for Optometry;\n(8) the Chairperson of Board of Cosmetology;\n(9) the Chief Medical Officer of the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority;\n(10) the Director of the Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, or a designee from the Department; and\n(11) one (1) member from the Mayors Council. The Commission shall elect a president and vice-president.\nThe Director of the Department of Public Health and Social Services, or the designee of the Director, shall be the secretary and treasurer of the Commission.\n(b) The Commission shall make, and from time to time may alter, such rules as it deems necessary for the conduct of its business and for the execution and enforcement of the provisions of this Chapter.\n(c) The Commission shall review rules and regulations promulgated by the\n(1) Board of Medical Examiners,\n(2) Board of Nurse Examiners,\n(3) Board of Examiners for Dentistry,\n(4) Board of Examiners for Optometry,\n(5) Board of Examiners for Pharmacy,\n(6) Board of Allied Health Examiners, and\n(7) Board of Cosmetology\nfor the purpose of standardizing, as much as possible, requirements for licensure for all professions in the practice of healing arts.\n(d) The Commission shall maintain a register of all persons licensed to practice the healing art on Guam, and each Board shall notify the Commission not less than annually of persons licensed under its supervision.\n(e) The Commission shall meet at least annually to review and make recommendations to the Division of Health Planning within DISID any plans relative to the community needs assessment and recommendation in areas of health manpower resources for licensed professionals in the healing arts, and other related health services.","path":["Title 10: Health and Safety","Division 1 - Public Health","Chapter 12: Medical Practices: Part 1: Articles 1 - 10","PART 1","ARTICLE 1: COMMISSION ON THE HEALING ARTS OF GUAM"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/10gc012-1_0.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T02:54:48Z","sha256":"1fcb798b0e61db43f5a635d930c44253bf9b868e998326d850b5f69e28cc8db2","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/10-gca-12102","next":"us-gu/10-gca-12104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
