{"data":{"id":"us-gu/10-gca-66105","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"10 GCA § 66105","heading":"Same: Eligibility and Oath.","body":"(a) No person shall be a volunteer member of the Civilian Volunteer Police Reserve established under this Chapter who advocates a change by force or violence in the constitutional form of the Government of the United States or in this Territory or the overthrow of any government in the United States by force, or who has been convicted of or is under indictment or information charging any subversive act against the United States.\n(b) Every volunteer shall, entering upon his duties, take an oath, in writing, before a person authorized to administer oaths in this Territory, which oath shall be substantially as follows:\n“I _____________________, do solemnly swear (or\naffirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of\nthe United States and the laws of the territory of Guam,\nagainst all enemies, foreign or domestic; that I will bear\ntrue faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this\nobligation freely, without any mental reservation or\npurpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully\ndischarge the duties upon which I am about to enter and\nI do further swear (or affirm) that I do not advocate, nor\nam I a member of any political party or organization that\nadvocates the overthrow of the Government of the\nUnited States or of this Territory by force or violence;\nand that during such time as I am a member of the Civil-\nian Volunteer Police Reserve I will not advocate nor\nbecome a member of any political party or organization\nthat advocates the overthrow of the Government of the\nUnited States or of this Territory by force or violence.”","path":["Title 10: Health and Safety","Division 3 - Public Safety","Chapter 66: Civilian Volunteer Police Reserve"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/10gc066.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T03:04:48Z","sha256":"cd835b9119b80a825d6519f3550a6787b5065728fbe3eee0d9271ab9a48da8a9","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/10-gca-66104.2","next":"us-gu/10-gca-66106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
