{"data":{"id":"us-gu/10-gca-72a103","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"10 GCA § 72A103","heading":"Same: Eligibility and Oath.","body":"No person shall be a member of the Guam Firefighter Reserve Program established under this Chapter who advocates a change by force or violence in the constitutional form of the Government of the United States, or this island, or the overthrow of any government in the United States by force, or who has been convicted of or is under indictment or information charging any subversive act against the United States. Every reserve member shall, entering upon his duties, take an oath, in writing, before a person authorized to administer oaths in this island, which oath shall be substantially as follows:\nI _______, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will\nsupport and defend the Constitution of the United States\nand the laws of Guam, against all enemies, foreign or\ndomestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the\nsame; that I take this obligation freely, without any\nmental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will\nwell and faithfully discharge the duties upon which I am\nabout to enter, and I do further swear (or affirm) that I\ndo not advocate, nor am I a member of any political\nparty or organization that advocates the overthrow of the\nGovernment of the United States, or of this island, by\nforce or violence; and that during such time as I am a\nmember of the Guam Firefighter Reserve Program I will\nnot advocate nor become a member of any political\nparty or organization that advocates the overthrow of the\nGovernment of the United States, or of this island, by\nforce or violence.","path":["Title 10: Health and Safety","Division 3 - Public Safety","Chapter 72A: Community Firefighter Reserve Program"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/10gc072A.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T03:06:08Z","sha256":"ecbc0683d755fa5da39cdec06955ca458add37ee21a3744cce2e16f1184397bd","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/10-gca-72a102","next":"us-gu/10-gca-72a104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
