{"data":{"id":"us-gu/10-gca-92a112","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"10 GCA § 92A112","heading":"Breastfeeding Promotion and Education-Maternal Health Care Providers and Maternal Health Care Facilities.","body":"For purposes of this Section, maternal health care providers means a physician, midwife, or other authorized practitioner attending a pregnant woman; and maternal health care facility includes hospitals and freestanding birthing centers providing perinatal services. Every maternal health care provider and maternal health care facility shall:\n(a) provide pregnant women and new mothers, where appropriate as determined by the attending physician, with information on breastfeeding and the benefits to the child;\n(b) provide pregnant women and new mothers, where appropriate as determined by the attending physician, with information on local breastfeeding support groups and Department of Public Health and Social Services programs; and\n(c) every licensed physician who provides obstetrical or gynecological consultation shall, where appropriate as determined by such physician, inform patients as to the prenatal preparation for and postnatal benefits of breastfeeding a child.","path":["Title 10: Health and Safety","Division 4 - Guam Health Act","Chapter 92A: Nåna yan Påtgon Act"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/10gc092A.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T03:10:38Z","sha256":"b14a9d3bb9c326d19193957110b3fd0713584cdd6c31f893e6f5e371416d000d","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/10-gca-92a111","next":"us-gu/10-gca-92a113"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
