{"data":{"id":"us-gu/11-gca-7423","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"11 GCA § 7423","heading":"Penalties in Lieu of or in addition to other Disciplinary Action; Payment of Costs of Proceedings.","body":"(a) If disciplinary action is taken against a person pursuant to this Chapter and the disciplinary action does not relate to a contest or exhibition of unarmed combat as provided in subsection (b), the Commission may, in lieu of revoking a license, prescribe a penalty not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000).\n(b) If disciplinary action is taken against a person pursuant to this Chapter, including, but not limited to, a hearing for the revocation of a license, and the disciplinary action relates to:\n(1) the preparation for a contest or an exhibition of unarmed combat;\n(2) the occurrence of a contest or an exhibition of unarmed combat; or\n(3) any other action taken in conjunction with a contest or an exhibition of unarmed combat, the Commission may prescribe a penalty pursuant to subsection (c).\n(c) A penalty prescribed by the Commission pursuant to subsection (b):\n(1) must not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) or one hundred percent (100%) of the share of the purse to which the holder of the license is entitled for the contest or exhibition, whichever amount is greater; and\n(2) may be imposed in addition to or in lieu of any other disciplinary action that is taken against the person by the Commission.\n(d) If disciplinary action is taken against a person pursuant to this Chapter, the Commission may require the person against whom such action is taken to pay the costs of the proceeding, including investigative costs and attorney’s fees.","path":["Title 11: Finance and Taxation","Division 1 - Department of Revenue and Taxation.","Chapter 7: Unarmed Combat","ARTICLE 4: LICENSING AND CONTROL OF CONTESTS AND EXHIBITIONS OF UNARMED COMBAT"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/11gc007.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T03:12:38Z","sha256":"18239b39297aa54e81601c01893599d8ef69a78d2caf3fd4d79dbe866cd0bdd0","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/11-gca-7422","next":"us-gu/11-gca-7424"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
