{"data":{"id":"us-gu/16-gca-7161","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"16 GCA § 7161","heading":"Street Light Fund.","body":"(a) There is established within the Treasury of Guam a fund to be known as the Street Light Fund, which shall be maintained separate and apart from any other funds, including the General Fund of the Government and independent records and accounts shall be maintained in connection therewith.\n(1) Money in the Street Light Fund shall be used to pay for the installation and operation of public street lights.\n(2) All revenues deposited in the Fund are reserved for use by the Guam Power Authority for payment for operation and installation of public street lights.\n(b) In addition to all other fees imposed by law, an additional Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) annual fee is imposed upon any vehicle subject to registration under this Title which shall be deposited in the Treasury of Guam to the credit of the Street Light Fund. This fee shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as the annual license and registration fee provided for in this Title.\n(c) Effective April 1, 2004, the fee established in the preceding subsection shall be amended and increased by Fifteen Dollars ($15.00), to be adjusted to a total of Forty Dollars ($40.00), with the proceeds to be deposited in said Fund.\n(d) Effective January 1, 2005, the fee established in the preceding subsections (b) and (c) shall be adjusted to a total of Thirty-Six Dollars ($36.00), with the proceeds to be deposited in said Fund.\n(e) No funds from the Street Light Fund may be expended or encumbered without an appropriation by I Liheslaturan Guåhan.\n(f) The Street Light Fund Fee in this Section shall be waived upon initial issuance and subsequent renewal of vehicle license and registration for any Veteran determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA) and with certification from the Guam Office of Veterans Affairs to be one hundred percent (100%) disabled or individually unemployable due to military service connected injuries; and for any WWII Veteran, Korean War Veteran, and Vietnam War Veteran registered with the Guam Office of Veterans Affairs notwithstanding disability or unemployable certification.\n(1) [Implicitly repealed by P.L. 38-036:3 (Aug. 18, 2025)]\n(2) [Implicitly repealed by P.L. 38-036:3 (Aug. 18, 2025)]","path":["Title 16: Vehicles","Chapter 7: Vehicle License and Registration"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/16gc007_0.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T03:40:08Z","sha256":"601ad6bb32df258920ea94a625f8e8df4de87316e188c80dc73c1695fd793923","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/16-gca-7160","next":"us-gu/16-gca-7162"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
