{"data":{"id":"us-gu/21-gca-61517","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"21 GCA § 61517","heading":"Family Home Occupation Requirements.","body":"Notwithstanding any zoning law to the contrary, a family home occupation shall be an accessory use to a residential dwelling or unit within any zone, and shall not require a use variance provided that:\n(a) the activity does not create a consternation with the residential use of the property and surrounding residential uses;\n(b) the activity employs no employees other than family members residing in the dwelling or unit;\n(c) there is no outside appearance of a family home occupation including, but not limited to, parking, signs or lights;\n(d) the volume of deliveries and other vehicular traffic is not in excess of what is normally associated with residential use in the neighborhood;\n(e) the activity uses no equipment or process that creates noise, vibration, glare, fumes, odors or electrical or electronic interference, including interference with radio or television reception, that would create a consternation to adjacent neighbors;\n(f) the activity does not generate solid waste or sewage discharge, in volume or type, which is not normally associated with a residential use in the neighborhood; and\n(g) the activity does not involve any illegal activity.","path":["Title 21: Real Property","Division 2 - Regulation of Real Property Uses","Chapter 61: Zoning Law of Guam","ARTICLE 5: YARD AND AREA REGULATIONS","SUBARTICLE 2A: FAMILY HOME OCCUPATION ACT ACCESSORY USE"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/21gc061_Q.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T04:12:48Z","sha256":"83040e4a3997424ac12fe43683c5c203216545f16c9f866631efc1ff73196cc0","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/21-gca-61516","next":"us-gu/21-gca-61517.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
