{"data":{"id":"us-gu/22-gca-23105","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"22 GCA § 23105","heading":"Minimum Surplus; Letter of Credit.","body":"No captive insurance company shall be issued a license unless it shall possess and thereafter maintain free surplus of:\n(1) in the case of a pure captive insurance company, not less than One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00);\n(2) in the case of a group captive insurance company incorporated as a mutual insurer, not less than One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00);\n(3) in the case of an industrial insured captive insurance company incorporated as a stock insurer, not less than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00);\n(4) in the case of a group captive insurance incorporated as a mutual insurer, not less than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00);\n(5) in the case of an industrial insured captive insurance company incorporated as a mutual insurer, not less than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00); and\n(6) in the case of a rent-a-captive or a protected cell company, not less than Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00).\nSuch surplus may be in the form of (i) cash or an irrevocable letter of credit issued by a member bank of the Federal Reserve System and approved by the Commissioner; or (ii) any other acceptable to the Commissioner.","path":["Title 22: Business Regulation","Division 2 - Insurance Law","Chapter 23: Captive Insurance Companies"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/22gc023.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T04:18:29Z","sha256":"30da11e5051cd01180f5dc300662d3a15cd2b8c6c2c7cc450b65f0311a613165","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/22-gca-23104","next":"us-gu/22-gca-23106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
