{"data":{"id":"us-gu/5-gca-33201","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"5 GCA § 33201","heading":"Commissioning.","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (c), the Attorney General shall commission as a notary any qualified person who submits an application in accordance with this Chapter.\n(b) A person qualified for a notarial commission must:\n(1) Be at least eighteen (18) years of age;\n(2) Reside on Guam;\n(3) Read and write English;\n(4) Be a citizen of the United States;\n(5) Pass a written examination as required under § 33212 of this Chapter;\n(6) Submit an application containing no significant misstatement or omission of fact.\n(c) The Attorney General may deny an application based on:\n(1) The applicant’s conviction of a crime involving dishonesty or moral turpitude;\n(2) Revocation, suspension, or restriction of a notarial commission or professional license issued to the applicant by this territory or any other state; or\n(3) The applicant’s official misconduct as defined in § 33104 of this Chapter whether or not disciplinary action resulted.","path":["Title 5: Government Operations","Division 3 - Legal and Consumer Affairs","Chapter 33: Notaries Public","PART 1 - COMMISSION , QUALIFICATIONS , TERM"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/5gc033.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T02:20:48Z","sha256":"d0b48e1306d8f309f3c8fecb9ef589863ffdcc3bb86665dafcda0d8dfa774bcb","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/5-gca-33106","next":"us-gu/5-gca-33202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
