{"data":{"id":"us-gu/5-gca-33402","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"5 GCA § 33402","heading":"Entries in Journal.","body":"(a) For every notarial act, the notary shall record in the journal before the time of notarization at least the following:\n(1) The date and time of day of the notarial act;\n(2) The type of notarial act;\n(3) A description of the document or proceeding;\n(4) The signature and printed name and address of each person for whom a notarial act is performed;\n(5) The evidence of identity of each person for whom a notarial act is performed, in the form of a description of the identification document, its issuing agency, its serial or identification number, and the date of its issuance if expired, or a statement by the notary that he or she has personal knowledge of identity of the person;\n(6) The fee, if any, charged for the notarial act; and\n(7) The address where the notarization was performed if not the notary’s business address.\n(b) A notary shall retain as an official record a duplicate photocopy of each certified copy.\n(c) If refusing to perform or complete a notarial act, the notary shall record in the journal the reasons other than lack of proof of identification.","path":["Title 5: Government Operations","Division 3 - Legal and Consumer Affairs","Chapter 33: Notaries Public","PART 1 – JOURNAL"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/5gc033.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T02:20:48Z","sha256":"14b9ba5d230681fb4db62cf1ffb975b44379b2b796807877c81e7026652f49a7","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/5-gca-33401","next":"us-gu/5-gca-33403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
