{"data":{"id":"us-gu/7-gca-7107","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"7 GCA § 7107","heading":"Incidental Powers and Duties of Courts.","body":"Each of the courts of Guam shall have power:\n(a) To preserve and enforce order in its immediate presence;\n(b) To enforce order in the proceedings before it, or before all persons empowered to conduct a judicial investigation under its authority;\n(c) To provide for the orderly conduct of proceedings before it or its officers;\n(d) To compel obedience to its judgments, orders and process, and to the orders of a Judge out of court in an action or proceeding pending therein;\n(e) To control in furtherance of justice, the conduct of its ministerial officers and of all other persons in any manner connected with a judicial proceeding before it in every matter appertaining thereto;\n(f) To compel the attendance of persons to testify in an action or proceeding pending therein in the cases and manner provided in this Title and in Titles 8 [Criminal Procedure] and 19 of this Code (Family Court Law);\n(g) To administer oaths in actions or proceedings pending therein, and in all other cases where it may be necessary in the exercise of its powers and duties; and\n(h) To amend and control its process and orders so as to make them conformable to law and justice.","path":["Title 7: Judiciary and Civil Procedure","Division 1 - Courts and Judicial Officers","Chapter 7: Powers of Judges, Justices and of the Superior Court"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/7gc007.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T02:31:18Z","sha256":"da7e94e5f969bc22370cecf5a2b4a13e0f9b1def4b612e4a1e26816e2052f49d","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/7-gca-7106","next":"us-gu/7-gca-7108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
