{"data":{"id":"us-gu/7-gca-9203","jurisdiction":"us-gu","citation":"7 GCA § 9203","heading":"Membership of Board: Number of Members; Manner of Appointment.","body":"The Board of the Law Library established in § 9202 of this Chapter shall consist of nine (9) members and shall be constituted as follows:\n(a) the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Guam may appoint himself or herself, or one (1) Associate Justice of the Supreme Court to serve ex officio as a trustee or, in the event a Justice chooses not to so serve, he shall appoint a Law Clerk in the employ of the Court or a member of the Guam Bar to serve as trustee for a term of three (3) years;\n(b) the Judge of the District Court may appoint himself or herself to serve ex officio as a trustee or, in the event he chooses not to serve, he may appoint a Law Clerk in the employ of the District Court or a member of the Guam Bar to serve as trustee; provided, that if there be more than one (1) Judge of the District Court, such Judges may appoint one (1) of their number to so serve, they may appoint a Law Clerk in the employ of the District Court or a member of the Guam Bar to serve as trustee to a term of four (4) years;\n(c) the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court may appoint himself or herself, or one (1) Judge of the Superior Court to serve ex officio as a trustee or, in the event a Judge chooses not to serve, the Presiding Judge shall appoint a Law Clerk in the employ of the Superior Court or a member of the Guam Bar to serve as trustee for a term of three (3) years;\n(d) the Judicial Council shall appoint one (1) trustee who is a member of the Guam Bar for a term of four (4) years;\n(e) the Chairman of the committee that has oversight of the judiciary of I Liheslaturan Guåhan shall appoint one (1) trustee who is a member of the Guam Bar for a term of two (2) years expiring no later than the last day of the legislative term in which the appointment occurred;\n(f) the Director of the Guam Public Library System shall be a trustee ex officio;\n(g) I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi shall appoint one (1) trustee who is a member of the Guam Bar for a term of four (4) years expiring no later than the last day of I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi’s term in which the appointment occurred; and\n(h) the President of the Guam Bar Association shall appoint two (2) trustees who are members of the Guam Bar for a term of two (2) years.","path":["Title 7: Judiciary and Civil Procedure","Division 1 - Courts and Judicial Officers","Chapter 9: Attorneys","ARTICLE 2: GUAM LAW LIBRARY"],"source_url":"https://col.guamcourts.gov/sites/default/files/7gc009.pdf","current_through":"P.L. 38-133 (June 4, 2026)","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-27T02:31:38Z","sha256":"3366e88ddbe739973e881bac41f61198ad5585cced9a7f10621ceae182577214","source_id":"us-gu","stale":false,"prev":"us-gu/7-gca-9202","next":"us-gu/7-gca-9204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
