Stat. § 173A-2.6","heading":"Land acquisition priorities.","body":"In advising the department and the board, the commission shall give the following lands priority in its recommendations for acquisitions:\n\n(1) Lands having exceptional value due to the presence of:\n\n(A) Unique aesthetic resources;\n\n(B) Unique and valuable cultural or archaeological resources; or\n\n(C) Habitats for threatened or endangered species of flora, fauna, or aquatic resources;\n\n(2) Lands that are in imminent danger of development;\n\n(3) Lands that are in imminent danger of being modified, changed, or used in a manner to diminish its value;\n\n(4) Lands providing critical habitats for threatened or endangered species that are in imminent danger of being harmed or negatively impacted;\n\n(5) Lands containing cultural or archaeological sites or resources that are in danger of theft or destruction; and\n\n(6) Lands that are unique and productive agricultural lands.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 12","Chapter 173A"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol03_Ch0121-0200D/HRS0173A/HRS_0173A-0002_0006.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"4d94fadaa8f171cce49172be631b245c21548b3c28c9612bc158e3e9838df09d","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-173a-2.5","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-173a-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
