Stat. § 269-46.1","heading":"Distributed energy resources installation goal; tariffs; requirements.","body":"(a) The public utilities commission shall establish a goal for new customer-sited distributed energy resources, to be installed in the State by December 31, 2030.\n\n(b) The public utilities commission shall establish tariffs for grid services programs, microgrids, and community-based renewable energy with fair compensation to achieve the goal established pursuant to subsection (a).\n\n(c) Any tariffs or tariff amendments filed pursuant to this section shall:\n\n(1) Include a rider for new and existing energy storage devices;\n\n(2) Include provisions that allow aggregators to:\n\n(A) Participate in grid service programs;\n\n(B) Automatically enroll and manage their customers' participation;\n\n(C) Receive dispatch signals and other communications from the electric utility;\n\n(D) Deliver performance measurement and verification data to the electric utility; and\n\n(E) Receive grid service program payments directly from the electric utility; and\n\n(3) Provide for measurement and verification of energy storage device performance directly at the device without the requirement for the installation of an additional meter, and other measurement standards for non-energy-storage and electric vehicle technologies for approval by the commission.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 15","Chapter 269"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol05_Ch0261-0319/HRS0269/HRS_0269-0046_0001.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"33d3616a0edacccc23b8e51c9016b74d84db8b576a45317f7f41db876ec30ed7","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-269-46","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-269-46.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
