Stat. § 291C-73","heading":"Crossing at other than crosswalks.","body":"(a) Every pedestrian crossing a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway.\n\n(b) Any pedestrian crossing a roadway at a point where a pedestrian tunnel or overhead pedestrian crossing has been provided shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway.\n\n(c) Between adjacent intersections at which traffic-control signals are in operation, pedestrians shall not cross at any place except in a marked crosswalk.\n\n(d) No pedestrian shall cross a roadway intersection diagonally unless authorized by official traffic-control devices; and, when authorized to cross diagonally, pedestrians shall cross only in accordance with the official traffic-control devices pertaining to the crossing movements.\n\n(e) Every person who violates this section shall be fined $100.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 17","Chapter 291C"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol05_Ch0261-0319/HRS0291C/HRS_0291C-0073.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"efae85c5908aa5f428494787111ae515e008524cb78c3be9c8c1b532961d515c","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-291c-72","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-291c-74"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
