{"data":{"id":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-321-14.6","jurisdiction":"us-hi","citation":"Haw. Rev. Stat. § 321-14.6","heading":"[ §321-14.","body":"[ §321-14.6] Rural emergency hospitals; licensing. (a) The department of health may license a hospital as a rural emergency hospital if the hospital:\n\n(1) Elects to receive the medicare designation as a rural emergency hospital;\n\n(2) Provides emergency treatment and stabilization services for an average length of stay of twenty-four hours or less;\n\n(3) Meets the requirements of title 42 United States Code section 1395x(kkk)(2); and\n\n(4) Passes inspection and receives a recommendation from the department to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to operate as a rural emergency hospital .\n\n(b) For the purposes of this section, \"rural emergency hospital\" means a hospital licensed under this section that was previously designated and operating as a critical access hospital as of December 27, 2020.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 19","Chapter 321"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol06_Ch0321-0344/HRS0321/HRS_0321-0014_0006.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"6f38d92f425cee4310bc149c074640dcfa8fd8b168eff4cb53f508ea7ca379f6","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-321-14.5","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-321-14.8"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
