Stat. § 327E-4","heading":"Revocation of advance health-care directive.","body":"(a) An individual may revoke the designation of an agent only by a signed writing or by personally informing the supervising health-care provider.\n\n(b) An individual may revoke all or part of an advance health-care directive, other than the designation of an agent, at any time and in any manner that communicates an intent to revoke.\n\n(c) A health-care provider, agent, guardian, or surrogate who is informed of a revocation shall promptly communicate the fact of the revocation to the supervising health-care provider and to any health-care institution at which the patient is receiving care.\n\n(d) A decree of annulment, divorce, dissolution of marriage, or legal separation revokes a previous designation of a spouse as agent unless otherwise specified in the decree or in a power of attorney for health care.\n\n(e) An advance health-care directive that conflicts with an earlier advance health-care directive revokes the earlier directive to the extent of the conflict.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 19","Chapter 327E"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol06_Ch0321-0344/HRS0327E/HRS_0327E-0004.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"c0018e05cb6ee2d7e4e52a02a71a6e1fd8fe614087108271b5219bd7fd1f7d39","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-327e-3","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-327e-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
