Stat. § 342I-2.5","heading":"Recycling.","body":"Any person accepting lead acid batteries for disposal shall:\n\n(1) Transport the lead acid batteries, with the liquid electrolyte intact, to a transfer facility; provided that the facility is in compliance with the accumulation provisions of section 342I-4;\n\n(2) Transport the lead acid batteries, with the liquid electrolyte intact, to a secondary lead smelter permitted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency; or\n\n(3) Have the liquid electrolyte neutralized at a facility that is permitted pursuant to chapter 342H; provided that once the liquid electrolyte is neutralized in accordance with the permit issued pursuant to chapter 342H, the batteries may be transported to any secondary lead smelter.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 19","Chapter 342I"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol06_Ch0321-0344/HRS0342I/HRS_0342I-0002_0005.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"f3cbc101d01ae314cadffb93e432643a0132086067f6133e0700162df6b1fb0c","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-342i-2","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-342i-22"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
