Stat. § 346-404","heading":"Termination of jurisdiction.","body":"Jurisdiction under this part shall terminate when:\n\n(1) The young adult has reached the age of twenty-one years;\n\n(2) The young adult chooses to terminate the voluntary care agreement and stop receiving extended foster care services if the young adult:\n\n(A) Has voluntarily signed a document attesting to the fact that the young adult no longer consents to the court's jurisdiction;\n\n(B) Has been informed in writing of the effects of terminating voluntary foster care early; and\n\n(C) Has been informed in writing of the option to reestablish jurisdiction before reaching age twenty-one and the procedures to do so; or\n\n(3) After a court finds that:\n\n(A) The young adult no longer meets the eligibility requirements as set forth in section 346-395; or\n\n(B) Despite the fact that the department has made ongoing reasonable efforts to provide the young adult with services, the young adult is in material noncompliance with the case plan.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 20","Chapter 346"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol07_Ch0346-0398/HRS0346/HRS_0346-0404.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"5455986afdf00db1650780e49eee86449be733865a443fc634ccf4b891bf3511","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-346-403","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-346-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
