Stat. § 385-6","heading":"Requirements for eligibility.","body":"An unemployed claimant is eligible to receive additional unemployment benefits with respect to any week only if the director of labor and industrial relations finds that:\n\n(1) The claimant has made a claim for additional unemployment benefits with respect to that week in accordance with the rules as the director may prescribe with respect to claims for normal benefits;\n\n(2) The claimant meets the eligibility requirements of section 383-29(a)(2) and (3);\n\n(3) The claimant is not subject to disqualification and is not under disqualification for normal benefits under section 383-30;\n\n(4) The claimant is not entitled to receive unemployment compensation benefits under any state or federal unemployment compensation laws for the week in which the claimant claims for additional unemployment benefits;\n\n(5) The claimant is not entitled to receive disaster benefits under any state or federal law for the week in which the claimant claims additional unemployment benefits.","path":["HI Code","Division 1","Title 21","Chapter 385"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol07_Ch0346-0398/HRS0385/HRS_0385-0006.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"388ab7022763ed571677641fbbe74fbe12ed838fc307b1303d0a28135c50501d","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-385-5","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-385-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
