Stat. § 448-1.5","heading":"Lead apron during x-ray; required.","body":"(a) A dentist shall cover a patient's torso from the neck to the pelvis including the genital area with a lead apron while conducting an x-ray procedure on the patient.\n\n(b) The board of dentistry, by rule adopted pursuant to chapter 91, shall establish minimum specifications for the lead apron; provided that the lead apron shall protect the patient's body from unnecessary exposure to x-rays yet not unduly discomfort the patient.\n\n(c) Any violation of this section shall be considered an improper conduct in the practice of dentistry for the purpose of section 448-17.","path":["HI Code","Division 2","Title 25","Chapter 448"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol10_Ch0436-0474/HRS0448/HRS_0448-0001_0005.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"e0e1be9c26d5469cdbeded14b243e8c73e5cea08afc8853cb024b57f2e760f5a","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-448-1","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-448-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
