Stat. § 456-17","heading":"Fees.","body":"Subject to section 456-18, every notary public is entitled to demand and receive the following fees:\n\n(1) For noting the protest of mercantile paper, $5;\n\n(2) For each notice and certified copy of protest, $5;\n\n(3) For noting any other protest, $5;\n\n(4) For every notice thereof and certified copy of protest, $5;\n\n(5) For every deposition or official certificate, $5;\n\n(6) For the administration of oath, including the certificate of the oath, $5; for affixing the certificate of the oath to every duplicate original instrument beyond four, $2.50;\n\n(7) For taking any acknowledgment, $5 for each party signing; for affixing to every duplicate original beyond one of any instrument acknowledged before the notary public, the notary public's certificate of the acknowledgment, $2.50 for each person making the acknowledgment; and\n\n(8) For any of the foregoing notarial acts performed for a remotely located individual under section 456-23, other than affixing a notary public's certificate to a duplicate original, $25.","path":["HI Code","Division 2","Title 25","Chapter 456"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol10_Ch0436-0474/HRS0456/HRS_0456-0017.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"be99b516be991234aed7ae01116e77038641b31cd531f106002c63f86db2a37f","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-456-15","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-456-18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
