Stat. § 460J-8","heading":"License requirements.","body":"To obtain an operator's license, a person shall fulfill the following requirements:\n\n(1) File an application as prescribed by the board;\n\n(2) Possess a history of honesty, truthfulness, financial integrity, and fair dealing;\n\n(3) Be at least eighteen years of age;\n\n(4) Satisfy the board's examination and experience requirements;\n\n(5) If a partnership, joint venture, corporation, or sole proprietorship, be under the direct management of a responsible managing employee or operator with an appropriate license;\n\n(6) Submit satisfactory proof to the board that the person has obtained workers' compensation insurance or has been authorized to act as a self-insurer as required by chapter 386 or is excluded from the requirements of chapter 386;\n\n(7) Submit satisfactory proof to the board that the person has obtained liability insurance, pursuant to section 460J-25; and\n\n(8) Provide other documentation as required by the board.","path":["HI Code","Division 2","Title 25","Chapter 460J"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol10_Ch0436-0474/HRS0460J/HRS_0460J-0008.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"29e5fe2dc5ba73ebfb171857ddba537d96333f00ce6e8174e641805d0350f2bf","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-460j-7","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-460j-8.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
