Stat. § 468E-5","heading":"Eligibility for licensure.","body":"(a) To be eligible for licensure by the board as a speech pathologist or audiologist, a person shall:\n\n(1) Possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in the area of speech pathology or audiology, as the case may be, from an educational institution recognized by the board;\n\n(2) Submit to the board evidence of eligibility for meeting the requirements of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association for the certificate of clinical competence in speech pathology or audiology, or both; and\n\n(3) Pass a written examination approved by the board.\n\n(b) To be eligible for licensure by the board as an audiologist, a person shall not be required to also be licensed as a hearing aid dealer and fitter under chapter 451A.","path":["HI Code","Division 2","Title 25","Chapter 468E"],"source_url":"http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol10_Ch0436-0474/HRS0468E/HRS_0468E-0005.htm","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:11Z","sha256":"10dc501d357b0e89dc79b865a9efe2e502ce742f0adef1eb5998ec52ef6e51f7","source_id":"us-hi","stale":false,"prev":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-468e-4","next":"us-hi/haw.-rev.-stat.-468e-6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
